NOM-029-ENER-2017 Energy efficiency of external power supplies. Limits, test methods, marking and labeling
Purpose of the standard

Purpose of the standard
This Mexican Official Standard applies to electronic equipment and its accessories that use for their power supply the electric energy of the public service, with single-phase power supply voltages up to 277 V a.c. at 60 Hz and/or three-phase voltages up to 480 V a.c. between lines at 60 Hz; as well as other energy sources, such as batteries, accumulators, self-generation and alternative power supply sources up to 500 V d.c.

Purpose of the standard
This Mexican Official Standard establishes the safety requirements that all peripheral data processing equipment or related equipment marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States must comply with.
The requirements and test methods of this standard apply to the following products:
a)Electronic data processing machines, which are identified as portable (laptop, notebook, palmtop), microcomputers, personal systems, personal computers, personal computers, personal use computers, network terminals (Pc-net), servers or equivalent and which also comply with the following two characteristics: -That they are uniprocessors; -That they use BUS-AT (ISA), or EISA, or MCA, or NUBUS, or BIOS, or PCI, or PCMI, or PMCIA technology, in all its current, future or derived versions thereof, as their main operating BUS.

NOM-003-SCFI-2014 Electrical products - Safety specifications
Purpose of the standard
This official Mexican standard applies to electrical products that use for their power supply the electrical energy of the public service, as well as other energy sources, such as batteries, accumulators and self-generation, in alternating current and/or direct current, with a rated voltage up to 1000 V in alternating current and up to 1 500 V in direct current.

Purpose of the standard
This Mexican Safety Standard applies to electronic apparatus designed to be powered from the ELECTRIC MAINS, from a POWER SUPPLY, from batteries or from a REMOTE POWER SUPPLY and which are intended for use in the reception, generation, recording or reproduction respectively of audio, video and associated signals. It also applies to apparatus designed to be used exclusively in combination with the above mentioned.
