Purpose of the standard

NOM-029-ENER-2017 Energy efficiency of external power supplies. Limits, test methods, marking and labeling

Purpose of the standard

The purpose of this official Mexican standard is to establish the minimum values of energy efficiency in operation, the maximum limits of electrical power in no-load or no-load mode, the test methods for its evaluation and the specifications of the minimum information to be marked of the external power supplies (FAE) that are intended to convert the alternating current (a.c.) line voltage to a single level of fixed output voltage in direct current (d.c.) at a time and with a maximum output power less than or equal to 250.0 W., as well as those that have a switch that allows the user to manually choose between different output voltage levels, and those that have a switch that allows the user to manually choose between different output voltage levels. ) at the same time and with a maximum output power less than or equal to 250.0 W, as well as those that have a switch that allows the user to manually choose between different levels of output voltage; being physically determined by design and that are independent of the product; which are imported, manufactured, marketed, as well as those that are distributed or supplied for promotional purposes; either individually or as part of an end-use product, within the territory of the United Mexican States.

NOM-001-SCFI-2018 Electronic devices - Safety requirements and test methods

Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Official Standard applies to electronic equipment and its accessories that use for their power supply the electric energy of the public service, with single-phase power supply voltages up to 277 V a.c. at 60 Hz and/or three-phase voltages up to 480 V a.c. between lines at 60 Hz; as well as other energy sources, such as batteries, accumulators, self-generation and alternative power supply sources up to 500 V d.c.

NOM-019-SCFI-1998 Safety of Data Processing Equipment and its conformity assessment results, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures of the United States of America and Canada

Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Official Standard establishes the safety requirements that all peripheral data processing equipment or related equipment marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States must comply with.

The requirements and test methods of this standard apply to the following products:

a)Electronic data processing machines, which are identified as portable (laptop, notebook, palmtop), microcomputers, personal systems, personal computers, personal computers, personal use computers, network terminals (Pc-net), servers or equivalent and which also comply with the following two characteristics: -That they are uniprocessors; -That they use BUS-AT (ISA), or EISA, or MCA, or NUBUS, or BIOS, or PCI, or PCMI, or PMCIA technology, in all its current, future or derived versions thereof, as their main operating BUS.

b)The peripherals associated with the machines indicated in paragraph a) of this item, such as printers, plotters, external disk drives, external tape drives, digitizing tablets, image digitizers, optical readers, monitors and terminals.

c)Equipment used for electronic communication between data processing equipment and peripheral equipment, local area networks (LAN), such as concentrators, protocol converters or routers, etc., designed for the handling of a single technology whose data BUS is not greater than 100 MBs, or which have any of the following characteristics: -That they are not of the modular type; -That they do not have the facility to be programmed.

NOM-003-SCFI-2014 Electrical products - Safety specifications

Purpose of the standard

This official Mexican standard applies to electrical products that use for their power supply the electrical energy of the public service, as well as other energy sources, such as batteries, accumulators and self-generation, in alternating current and/or direct current, with a rated voltage up to 1000 V in alternating current and up to 1 500 V in direct current.

NMX-I-60065-NYCE-2015 : ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT- Audio, video and analog electronic devices - safety requirements

Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Safety Standard applies to electronic apparatus designed to be powered from the ELECTRIC MAINS, from a POWER SUPPLY, from batteries or from a REMOTE POWER SUPPLY and which are intended for use in the reception, generation, recording or reproduction respectively of audio, video and associated signals. It also applies to apparatus designed to be used exclusively in combination with the above mentioned. NMX-I-60950-1-NYCE-2015 INC 5.5: Information technology equipment-security-general requirements

Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Standard applies to information technology equipment powered by the electrical network or by batteries, including electrical office equipment and associated equipment, with a maximum nominal voltage of 600 V. This Mexican Standard applies to information technology equipment operating at single-phase supply voltages from 100 V to 277 V a.c. and 50 Hz or 60 Hz and/or three-phase voltages from 173 V a.c. to 480 V a.c. between lines and 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Purpose of the standard

The purpose of this Mexican Standard is to establish the safety requirements that electronic toys must comply with. Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Standard specifies the safety characteristics for electrical appliances for domestic use, and similar, with rated voltage not greater than 250 V for single-phase appliances and not greater than 480 V for other appliances. Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Standard specifies the safety characteristics of toys that have at least one function that depends on electricity. Toys that use electricity for a secondary function are within the scope of this standard.

NMX-J-508-ANCE-2017 Electrical appliances-safety requirements-specifications and test methods

Purpose of the standard

NMX-J-521/2-3-ANCE-2013 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-3: Particular requirements for electric irons

Purpose of the standard

This standard specifies the safety characteristics of dry electric irons and steam irons, including those with a separable water container or heater with a capacity not greater than 5 L, for domestic use and similar purposes; being their rated voltage not greater than 250 V. Appliances which are not intended for normal domestic use, but which may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended for use by non-specialized users in stores, light industry and farms, are included within the scope of this standard. As far as is reasonable, this standard deals with the most common hazards to people presented by appliances found in the domestic environment. Purpose of the standard

Battery-operated appliances and appliances powered by direct current are within the scope of this standard. However, if the appliance is intended to be used professionally to prepare food for commercial consumption, the appliance is not considered to be solely for normal domestic or similar use. Purpose of the standard

This Mexican Standard specifies safety requirements for electric fryers that have a maximum recommended amount of edible oil not greater than 5 L, frying pans, wok type frying pans and other appliances in which edible oil is used for cooking and are intended for domestic and similar use, with rated voltage not greater than 250 V.

Purpose of the standard

Specifies safety requirements for vacuum cleaners and for electric water suction cleaning appliances for domestic use and similar purposes, including vacuum cleaners for grooming animals if their rated voltage is not higher than 250 V. Also applies to vacuum cleaners with central suction unit and automatic vacuum cleaners using batteries, also applies to motorized cleaning heads and current conductors integrated in flexible hoses, which are used with a particular vacuum cleaner.

Purpose of the Standard

This Mexican Standard specifies safety requirements for electrical appliances for oral hygiene for domestic use and similar purposes, its rated voltage is not greater than 250 V.

NMX-J-521/2-54-ANCE-2005 Household cleaning appliances using liquids or steam

Purpose of the Standard

This Mexican Standard specifies the safety characteristics of electric cleaning devices for domestic use, intended for cleaning surfaces, such as windows, walls and empty pools, which use cleaning agents or steam, with a rated voltage of no more than 250 V.

Field of application

This Mexican Standard establishes the specifications and test methods to be met by round, bare or enameled copper magnet wires, with cotton insulation, single and double layer, for thermal class 90ºC or 105ºC. It is considered thermal class 90ºC when used without being impregnated and class 105ºC when used impregnated or immersed in insulating oil or synthetic dielectric liquids.

Objective and field of application

This Mexican Standard specifies the safety characteristics of electric pumps for liquids whose temperature is not higher than 90 ºC, intended for domestic use and similar purposes, with rated voltage not higher than 250 V, for single-phase devices and 480 for other devices. Appliances that are not intended for normal domestic use, but that can be a source of danger for the user, such as appliances intended for use by non-specialized users in shops, small industries and farms, are included within the scope of this Mexican Standard. As far as reasonable, this Mexican Standard addresses the most common hazards that appliances can present to people in the domestic environment.
