Purpose of the standard
This Mexican Standard establishes the specifications and test methods applicable to Power supply cords marketed independently, Power supply cords incorporated into an appliance, Extension cords and products marketed or intended for use as extension cords, multi-outlets, power strips, and similar, whose rated voltages do not exceed 250 V and which are used to supply electrical energy to household and similar appliances.
